The Middle East is a historical and cultural subregion of Africa-Eurasia
traditionally held to be countries or regions in Southwest Asia
together with Egypt. In other contexts, the region can include
other parts of North Africa and/or Central Asia. The Middle
East is the birthplace and spiritual center of Judaism, Christianity,
and Islam. Middle East defines a cultural area, so it does not
have precise borders. The most common and highly arbitrary definition
includes:
Morocco
Morocco (Berber: Marruk ) is a country in North Africa. It
has a long coastline on the Atlantic Ocean that reaches past
the Strait of Gibraltar into the Mediterranean Sea. It borders
Algeria to the east, though the Algerian border is closed, the
Mediterranean Sea and Spain to the north and the Atlantic Ocean
to its west. The border to the south is disputed. Morocco claims
ownership of Western Sahara and has administered most of the
territory since 1975.
Turkey
Turkey is a rapidly modernizing country with a blend of custom
and tradition with new thought. Its people are friendly and
accommodating and its the cities are full of majestic old buildings.
There are a variety of things to see and do in Turkey, like
aqua sports, mountain trekking, archaeology, night clubbing,
etc. Turkey covers a total square area of 779,452 sq km and
is 65.7 million people strong. The population is a mix of Turks,
Kurds, other Islamic peoples, Armenians and Jews. The national
language is Turkish and the main religion is Islam.
Dubai
Dubai, one of the seven states which make up the United Arab
Emirates, plays host to an increasing number of visitors from
all across the globe and since it has an ancient tradition of
trade it pulls visitors from throughout the Middle East and
neighbouring regions. This enigmatic city overwhelms the visitors
with its never-ending charm and vivacious energy and magnetizes
the travellers looking for something new and exciting. It caters
to the demands of the tourists with international facilities
in congruence with the adventure of the Middle East and provides
with exotic destinations coupled with a cosmopolitan lifestyle.
Mecca - The Holy City
Mecca is the most holy city in Islam. The city is revered from
being the first place created on earth, as well as the place
where Ibrahim together with his son Ismail, built the Kaba.
The Kaba, the centre of Islam, is a rectangular building made
of bricks. Around the Kaba is the great mosque, al-Haram, and
around the mosque, in between the mountains, are the houses
that make up Mecca.
